16 September 2024 - 27 September 2024
Washington D.C, USA
The ICAC Research Associate Program (RAP) 2024 was announced on December 7, 2023, and will be conducted in September 2024 in the United States. All candidates interested in the Research Associate Program had to submit their applications to the Secretariat online by December 21, 2023.
The Secretariat shared the applicants with the respective Delegate/Coordinating Agency (CA) to recommend a name — either from the list of individuals applying from that country, directly provide a name, or recommend a name from the list of applicants from their country (if any) who were put on the waiting/visa issue list for RAP 2023.
The program is eligible only for researchers from ICAC Member governments. However, candidates from non-member governments and those not specifically recommended by their governments can participate on a tuition basis.
The RAP provides an opportunity to receive additional education in cotton research, production, market, trade, economics, and textiles. The complete program schedule will be shared soon. Typically, the first week of the program is conducted at the offices of the Secretariat in Washington, DC. Participants will be briefed by members of the Secretariat and by experts from the US cotton industry, research institutions, international organizations, and the US Department of Agriculture. The program also includes visiting a cotton-producing area in the United States. Participants in the program must present a brief report on recent changes/developments in the cotton and/or textiles sectors of their respective countries.
