Preparations for 75th Plenary Advancing Smoothly
José Sette, Executive Director of the ICAC, visited Pakistan last week to discuss arrangements with the local Organizing Committee for the 75
th Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee, which will be held in Islamabad, from October 31
st to November 4
th, 2016.
Logistical preparations are advancing smoothly: the event venue has already been selected and a variety of hotels will be available for participants. Steps are being taken to facilitate the issue of visas for delegates, observers and other participants.
On February 25
th, Mr Sette participated in a meeting with a broad range of stakeholders in the cotton value chain in order to exchange ideas on the program of the event. Considerable progress was made and a proposal for the theme and agenda of the Plenary will be presented to ICAC members in the near future.
Mr Sette expressed his satisfaction with the progress made: “All stakeholders that I met are extremely enthusiastic about hosting the ICAC Plenary. The organizers are taking steps to prepare a wonderful event, while ensuring the security and comfort of all.
