Research Conferences
World Cotton Research Conference – 1
In collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Cotton Research and Development Corporation of Australia, the TIS organized the World Cotton Research Conference - 1 in Brisbane, Australia from February 13-17, 1994. Researchers from over 40 countries attended the conference.
World Cotton Research Conference – 2
The Hellenic Cotton Board and Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Greece hosted the World Cotton Research Conference - 2 in Athens from September 6-12, 1998. 620 researchers from 46 countries participated in the WCRC-2. About 300 papers were presented in the Conference. ICAC, CIRAD-CA, France, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, World Cotton Research Conference-1 Committee, Ministry of Agriculture (Greece), Hellenic Cotton Board (Greece) and National Agricultural Research Foundation (Greece) sponsored WCRC-2.
World Cotton Research Conference – 3
At the invitation of the cotton industry of South Africa, the World Cotton Research Conference (WCRC-3) was held in, Cape Town, South Africa from 9-13 March 2003. The WCRC-3 was held under the auspices of Cotton SA and the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa. The ARC Institute for Industrial Crops, Rustenburg, South Africa hosted the WCRC-3. Over 300 researchers from 38 countries attended the Conference. 164 papers were presented orally and 83 papers were presented as posters at the Conference.
World Cotton Research Conference – 4
The World Cotton Research Conference-4 will be held in the USA from September 10-14, 2007. All information and pre-registration of the conference is available at
