The 492nd Meeting of the Standing Committee will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in New York
City at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Seventh Ave at 27th Street, New York, NY 10001,
hosted by the Textile Development and Marketing Department.
FIT is a public institution of higher education with ties to private industry designed to benefit students in design, fine arts, packaging,
computer animation, textile technology, marketing, advertising, merchandising, and production. The 492nd
Meeting will be an opportunity for Standing Committee members to interact with students, fashion
designers, and textile and clothing buyers in New York to learn about factors affecting retail demand for
cotton.
Standing Committee delegates, members of the Secretariat and members of the cotton community in
Washington will travel by bus. The coach will leave from the Southwest corner of 17th and K St. NW, at
7:30 AM and will return about 11:00 PM. The Secretariat office is near the K Street exit from Farragutt North. Parking can be arranged with the Secretariat in a garage on 17th street with advance notice.
Dress for the day is business casual. You may wish to bring refreshments. Belongings may be left on the
coach during the day.
An accurate roster needs to be provided to FIT. Therefore, please confirm with the Secretariat at
Carmen@icac.org or 202-292-1679 no later than April 14.
