In January 2000, the International Cotton Advisory Committee constituted an
expert panel on biotechnology of cotton with the objective to provide objective,
science-based information on the use of biotechnology in cotton. The panel
consisted of members from Australia, Brazil, Egypt, France, Greece, India,
UK, and USA. The panel produced a report taking into account the negative and
positive aspects of the biotechnological applications in cotton.
